It's been a while since I last wrote, I think. I was aiming to post something at least a few times a week, but this week was nuts. I went to Alabama for a wedding, and it was GORGEOUS, and then I went to NY to check out apartments. I opened my computer twice for about half an hour to try to write, but that's just not enough time for me to put something together with all the pictures I want and everything. So here's what I've learned: I need a photographer boyfriend to travel with me and take pics of things I wear so I can post them in a timely and organized fashion. HUGE missed opportunity at this wedding to not have take a few pics of my outfit, because I really liked it. But I didn't want to ask anyone or try to hard to get a blog-worthy picture of myself because the day wasn't about me and I didn't want to get too self-indulgent. So I have to figure all that out.
As for the topic at hand: I'm not a shoe addict. Unlike many fashion-obsessed women, I do not dream of having a closet full of shoes like a Kardashian. Honestly, the idea of having that many shoes to choose from would send me into a tizzy every morning and I'd never make it outside again. Plus, I'm pretty practical. I like having one shoe of every kind, usually in black, and if they are extremely practical then brown/tan as well. So to me, "fun" shoes are a treat for my closet and I pick them pretty selectively.
At the moment, the only sneakers I wear are some blue high-top chucks that are kind of my casual go-to. But since I'm about to move back to NY, where walking is the preferred mode of transportation for me, I figured another pair of comfortable sneakers wouldn't hurt. Right now I'm obsessed with colorful, bold sneakers with a print or embellishment and I'd love to make that addition to my closet.
So, what I'm looking for is a little specific, which is great because it narrows down what I'm looking for and when I see what I want, I'll know it. The difficulty here is that sometimes when trends take over, it can be hard to find what you want if it's not on trend. Platform sneakers were having a moment, and now that's all I can find. I was looking mostly at flat sneakers since my goal is comfort, but I included some platforms because they kind of won me over. So after some digging, and these are my favorites.
I think these sneakers would be such an easy way to be comfortable and stylish at the same time. I picture them with boyfriend jeans and skinny jeans, mostly, but with the right shoe they can also go with 90's cut skirts and dresses. Which ones do you love?
